Players with a FIDE Rating >1700 are also eligible to play in the Open, even if their ACF is <1400
Players with a FIDE Rating of <1750 and no ACF Rating are eligible to play in the Classic
Players with a FIDE Rating of >1750 are not eligible to play in the Classic, even if their ACF is <1600
June 2024 ACF Ratings will be used for cut-offs in the Classic.
Players may either have to pay the difference or receive a partial refund if they are moved to another division.
Unrated players may play in the Classic. Unrated players are ineligible for prize money.
Early bird entry fees apply for entries before June 1st 2024.
Normal entry fees apply from June 1st 2024 to June 30th 2024.
Late entry fees apply after 1st of July 2024.
Blitz entries on the day are $50.
Terms and Conditions
- Players not residing in Australia (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident) must have a FIDE ID to compete. Players must obtain an ID from their national federation if not listed on the FIDE website. The organisers reserve the right to ask for proof of Citizenship/Permanent Residency if necessary.
- Full refunds (less the processing fee) will be issued if the organisers are notified at least 7 days before the start of the tournament. (On or before 30th of June 2024)
- No refunds will be issued after the 1st of July 2024.
- No refunds are issued for late entries.
- The organisers reserve the right to deny or modify entries into the U1600 Division based on the player’s rating.
- The organisers reserve the right to deny or modify entries into the Open division based on the player’s rating.
- Registrations and payments are through Trybooking. The Rooty Hill Chess Club will absorb the processing and ticket fees unless payment is completed through PayPal, where a 0.5% surcharge will apply.

Discounts (NO LONGER AVAILABLE)
1. FIDE title holders of GM, WGM, IM and WIM are eligible for free entry into the Open and Blitz if entered before June 1st 2024.
2. FIDE Title Holders of FM and WFM are eligible for a discount of 30% into the Open and Blitz if entered before June 1st 2024.
3. Players over 2000 ACF or FIDE (Classical/Standard ratings) are eligible for a 10% discount at the time of entry into the Open (NOT Blitz) if entered before June 1st 2024.
4. Concession entries are eligible for a discount on all events, with the exception of late entries. Concession entry fees are displayed in brackets.
Concession includes pensioners, disability holders and tertiary students under twenty-five (25). Proof of concession is to be sighted by the Chief Organiser before the start of the tournament.
5. Discounts do not stack. Players are only eligible for one discount. (e.g. Concession entries are not eligible for the 30% FM discount)
